Countless Join Pro-Palestine Protests as Coordinators Promise to Persist in Activism
Tens of thousands have rallied in various Australian cities at rallies supporting Palestine, with coordinators promising to continue protesting after a truce agreement brokered by Donald Trump in Gaza initially appeared to be holding.
Sydney March Gathers Substantial Attendance
In Sydney, the pro-Palestine organization said a crowd of 30,000 had marched from Hyde Park to Belmore Park in the central business district after a scheduled protest to the iconic venue was banned by the state judicial body in recent days.
Local authorities approximated 8,000 people attended the city demonstration, with a representative saying there had been "no significant incidents".
Nationwide Demonstrations Mark Anniversary
Protests were also organized in Melbourne, Queensland's capital and west coast metropolis on Sunday to mark the ongoing situation after Hamas attacks on the date in 2023 killed about 1,200 people in Israel.
"Regarding our cause, we'll certainly maintain to protest for a free Palestine... for self-determination in Gaza, for humanitarian assistance to enter and for Palestinians to be able to rebuild Gaza," stated a coordinator.
Differing Opinions to Ceasefire Agreement
Numerous demonstrators expressed hope that the agreement could establish stability. Some were doubtful of Trump's involvement and called on activists to continue urging the Australian government to sanction Israel and stop arms transactions.

Abubakir Rafiq, who came back to the city on Friday, gave an emotional speech recounting his imprisonment with 83 other men in Israel's Ketziot prison.
Leadership Remarks
The political representative the legislator told the crowd: "We cannot let a world where Trump determines the destiny of Palestinians to be the type of reality we accept."
A different coordinator who made the first proposal to demonstrate at the famous location maintained that the protesters could have safely headed to the renowned coastal site. The law enforcement official had previously stated the judicial body that the arrangement appeared dangerous.
The coordinator said on Sunday: "Whenever the authorities try to restrict our rallies or take us to the supreme court, it wakes up a lot of people... to the necessity to organize and stand up against it."
