The New England Patriots equaled their longest winning run since the Brady era as they beat division rivals the Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three scores as the New England squad secured an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since legendary quarterback Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in the 2019 season

Signal-caller Drake Maye passed for 281 yards and a touchdown, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph increases the Patriots lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the Jets bottom after dropping to two victories and eight defeats

The visitors had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Justin Fields scoring a short rushing score to cap the Jets' first possession

But the New England answered in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the rear of the end zone midway through the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"It was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of the rookie. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields threw to Metchie toward the end of the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots closed out the win
